Inclusive Seminar on Multilateralism and Environmental Negotiations
Inklusives Seminar zu Multilateralismus und Umweltverhandlungen

The Inclusive Seminar on Multilateralism and Environment Negotiations (INKL) is a one-week online course that provides participating diplomats with the toolkit and the knowledge they need to navigate global discussions on environmental and sustainability issues within the context of multilateralism. This seminar takes place online above all in order to enable those with particular inclusion-related needs and also those with restricted travel options to participate.
The combination of theoretical content and practical exercises and the use of real case studies, such as COP28 and environmental issues, illustrates how different global players can participate effectively in multilateral discussions. A particular focus is placed on the challenges confronting different regions, such as climate change, migration and drought, and how these issues can be represented and treated in international forums.
The relevance of the issue of inclusion is also underscored by contributions from Federal Foreign Office staff working in the fields of inclusion, gender equality and diversity. Training on media competence, negotiation techniques and breathing techniques supplements the programme.
Participants refine their ability to take part in complex international negotiations and develop a deeper understanding of connections between environmental problems as well as of the need for cooperative, inclusive solutions at global level.
